Opening

1) Watch the Video clip on Water Cycle

2) Student generated flow map to create notes from the powerpoint on water cycle.

Work Session: <--------- Look here for your assignment!]

1) Breakout Session in Biome Group- share research infromation wit teammates from thinking maps.

2) Individually select your presentation media for your Biome project (grading rubric to come later)

A) turn in index card with your presentation media to your instructor (teammates may not have the same presentation media.)

Closing

Students will create a second flow map illustrating movement of the water cycle through your biome.

Extension: Friday will be a lab day [hydroponics]. Please dress with proper shoes and clothes. Long hair needs to be pulled back. Please bring empty 2 liter bottles...as many as you can.

SWBAT Investigate Solar Energy as an alternative energy source.

Work Sessions:

M-T: 1) begin a tutorial on how different alternative energy sources such as solar, wind and geothermal energy are harnest and converted to electicity or mechanical power.

W-F 2) Calculate the voltage, current, rate, power and the amount of money expended or conserved in switching to solar power. Plus, sometimes the benefits out weigh the increase in expense over the long term...so you will see the ecological value.
