I will check for the first three assignments on the Research Paper checklist. Then, I will demonstrate again how to take notes on the 4" x 6" notecards. The 60 notecards are due next Monday.

Henry Cisneros is chairman of American CityVista, a company that describes itself as "dedicated to producing workforce homes in America's urban areas". Cisneros served in the Clinton Administration as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and is also a former mayor of San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Michael Eric Dyson is the Avalon Foundation Professor in the Humanities at the University of Pennsylvania. He has written several books including "Is Bill Cosby Right? Or Has the Black Middle Class Lost its Mind?" He is also an ordained minister.
Archbishop Jose H. Gomez is the Archbishop of San Antonio, Texas. He has been named by Time magazine as one of the top 25 most influential Hispanics in America.
Macarena Hernandez is an editorial columnist at The Dallas Morning News. Her family emigrated from Mexico to the U.S. in the early 1970s.

Thursday/Friday- A double timed write. One essay will be a style-analysis of a passage. The other essay will be an argument.
