AP English Language and Composition/Biography-Memoir project

In the month of April you will be reading a biography or memoir (non-fiction) about a person or group of people who changed the world in some significant way. The book length should be at least 200 pages.

The reading lexile level should be 10th Grade or above. You need your book in class on Monday April 13th.

Order a cheap book on-line, go to the school or county library.

Thank you all for working on catching up or progressing forward on your research papers.

Group leaders: Thank you for encouraging your group members. I realize many members of the class are at different stages of the papers. Guide those who come to you for questions.

Group members: Remember your group leaders are not magicians. In all cases, they are willing to help you but you must be willing to do the work that is necessary.

I visited the OWL Online Writing Lab at Purdue University last night for help in getting ideas to you on revising your draft and proofreading your draft.

Once you have double-spaced your draft (leaving the colors in the draft), put in 12 pt. Times New Roman, numbered it with your last name, put your name on the first page the correct way, put in the proper margins.....you are now ready to revise it.

You will be working on your Works Cited Page. Unlike the annotated bibliography, you will only list works that are of your 12 citations in the paper. If you didn't cite the source, don't have it on your Works Cited Page.

When you finish, find two people on your team to help proofread your paper.

Felicia Williams appealed to my sense of logos and ethos by suggesting that I cancel the poetry presentation. I only learned that I would be taken out of class last week. Felicia claims that instead, I should host the OEDIPUS discussion on Tuesday/Wednesday March 24-25th. I am inclined to agree with her.
