Well the results for the first week of play were not exactly what we had hoped for as we lost to both Douglas County and Whitefield Academy. In the Douglas County game we had excellent hitting and a good first start of the season for sophomore pitcher Nick Fluker. Unfortunately the wheels fell off in the top of the 7th to waste Fluker's effort and we lost our lead. Against Whitefield we didn't hit, and didn't play very good defensively. Pitching again fell apart late and a close game became a blowout. On the positive side, our younger players have all gotten involved in varsity play now and should be able to settle in for future outings. This week we have a JV game against South Cobb scheduled for Wednesday and then Varsity games Thursday at South Cobb and a trip to the east for a Saturday double header against Jackson County and East Jackson.
