Sorry I haven't been faithful in the last week or so about the posts.
I'll try to do better.
We begin this week with a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson:
Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air… Make the most of yourself, for that is all there is of you.
Our poem of the day is:
The Rider by Naomi Shihab Nye
The Rider
Naomi Shihab Nye
A boy told me
if he roller-skated fast enough
his loneliness couldn’t catch up to him,
the best reason I ever heard
for trying to be a champion.
What I wonder tonight
pedaling hard down
is if it translates to bicycles.
A victory! To leave your loneliness
panting behind you on some street corner
while you float free into a cloud of sudden azaleas,
pink petals that have never felt loneliness,
no matter how slowly they fell.

We missed Friday Fantasia so we made it up today.
Report Cards go out on Friday. This was a good day to get some work finished.
Hopefully tomorrow we will write about Fortunato or Montresor from "The Cask of Amontillado."
The Graduation Writing Test is scheduled for Wednesday.
Best to all the Juniors.
Keep writing.
