To use Audacity program and create MP3 recording:
1. Put on headset. Adjust microphone to face front.
2. Click the Audacity icon to open the program.
3. Click the red button to record. Speak into the microphone.
4. Click the yellow box button to stop recording.
5. Replay the recording to check the audio quality. (Click “Skip to start” and then “play” button on top of screen.)
6. Click File at top left of page.
7. Click Export.
8. Select “Desktop” and then the folder with your name.
9. Change “Save as type:” to “MP3 Files.”
10. Change “File name:” to your name.
11. Click Save.
12. Ignore “Edit Metadata.” Click OK.
To burn a CD with your response:
1. Insert CD.
2. If a pop up window opens when you insert the CD saying CD Drive (D:), click Cancel.
3. Double click the desktop folder with your name.
4. Right click on the MP3 file you created.
5. Mover cursor to “Send to” and then across to “CD Drive (D:).” Left click.
6. Left click the pop up balloon saying “You have files waiting to be written to the CD.”
7. Top left under “CD Writing Tasks,” left click “Write these files to CD.”
8. Type your name in the box marked: “CD name.”
9. Click Next.
10. Mark the dot in the “Make a data CD.”
11. Click Next twice. (This includes the message asking if you want to create a HighMat-compatible CD). Finally, click Finish.
