Dear Parents and Rising 11th and 12th Grade Students:
House Bill 149 Move On When Ready will be implemented for the 2010-2011 school year effective July 1, 2010. MOWR is an arrangement whereby an eligible student entering eleventh or twelfth grade and who spent the prior school year in attendance at a public high school in Georgia may take all of his or her courses at or through an eligible institution (college, university or public technical college) or a virtual course approved by the State Board of Education and receive secondary credit from his or her high school with the goal of completing graduation and high school diploma requirements.
Minimum eligibility requirements to participate in the MOWR program are:
- Be a junior or senior on track for graduation
- Be a legal resident of Georgia
- Have a 2.5 GPA or higher
- Have transportation/insurance to participating college campus
- Meet all college admission and registration requirements
- Commit to MOWR program guidelines
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress towards fulfilling high school graduation requirements.
