Books

All books are due by Monday May 17th

this includes text books, Murder at the Margin books, the gold AP practice books and my AP practice books.

Textbooks will run around $85 if you have lost yours and they will NOT let you graduate without paying that fine. In addition, the Murder at the Margin books are $15 each and the other books at least $20. Let's save some cash and get those books back in...

Extra Assignment Credit

Want to do some extra credit? Go to USATestPrep log in using student id osborne and password newton18 and look for the EOCT test section (top right of the page). Select EOCT - Economics and begin taking tests.

Before you take a test, you can select to email your results to someone - select my name from the drop down menu (I'm easy to find, there is only 4 of us listed) and then you can take the tests.

The diagnostics test is a good one to take as it is great practice!

Just make sure to send me your results each time for credit - I will take the highest scores for credit.

Join me for a Starbucks?

This Saturday around 3PM I will be at the Starbucks on East West next to Wal-Mart enjoying a black ice tea if anyone would like to join me for coffee/tea and studying for EOCT/AP exams. I know some of you will be studying for an AP exam so I would not keep you long.

Blog a reply if you would like to come?

Economics Classes

This week we will be reviewing all week for the EOCT which is next Wednesday and Thursday. We will start with the review packet guides you received earlier this month and then we will move on to other materials.

Every student should be prepared to spend at least 1 hour per day outside of class studying. This minimum amount will REALLY help you to refresh your memories of the material.

How do you study?
Read your notes outloud - it really helps!
As you do practice questions, read them outloud instead of just in your head
Summarize notes as you read them
Write down questions you have as you re-read notes - ask the questions you should have asked in class
Make flash cards for vocabulary or important concepts (such as shifting demand and supply curves)

AP Graphs

Hi,

I'm working on the graphs right now, I should be finished in the next 30 minutes. Sorry it took so long, we had meetings right after school but I'm working hard!

Remember:

  • perfect competition: loss, profit, long run equilibrium (normal profits);
  • monopoly: profits, losses, socially optimal point, fair return point, monopolist output and price decision
  • Consumer and Producer Surplus - perfect competition v. monopoly
  • Production Possibilities Curve (increasing)

I may add a couple more soon... update soon...

UPDATE: Here are the graphs in PDF form... good luck with them!
