AP Economics 3-25-10

Well we are into Macroeconomics now! So far we've begun taking the notes and discussing the concepts.

Today I handed out the next Capstone guide (look on the AP page here for that) as well as a Macroeconomics/International economics vocabulary project. This will be due the 21st of April.

In addition, please be studying the graphs and concepts from micro - the last review quiz revealed some weaknesses in graphing.

Economics Daily 3-25-10

Well the updates have been slow since last week due to testing and reviewing for the GHSGT. We've had so many people out each day it feels like not much was accomplished. However, we have been reviewing personal finance in preparation for the Treasury's Financial challenge next week.

So far, we have reviewed: savings, risk v. return, taxes, IRS, paychecks, deductions, credit etc. I took up the paycheck/taxes packet and am checking the risk v return packet. Today we went over credit and building wealth.

Also, there will be an "ABC Book" for Macroeconomics due the Tuesday we come back from spring break. Make sure you pick that up in class. It will be our intro to Macroeconomics and is very important (it counts as a big grade).

Lastly if you missed the Unit 2 test or did not turn in the Unit 2 review guide (which many of you did not) you need to get that in immediately. I am calling parents of those who are failing!

Today we continued with the Role of Government and Market Failure Notes.

We also assigned students to research either the Fair or Flat tax for a mini discussion/debate tomorrow.

Ides of March!

Today we took the unit 2 test. Due to the GHSGT review blitz there are quite a few people who will need to make the test up.

In addition, we started a unit on personal finance so people did work on that in 1st and 2nd period Gov't.

AP Economics 3-8-10

We are nearly finished with the unit on Factor Markets. You will have a quiz on Wednesday and we will begin the final unit on Thursday. We have taken grades on nearly every assignment we did for this unit so if you are missing anything from Activity 43 - 51 you need to turn it in.

After the Role of Government unit, we will switch to Macroeconomics and International for the EOCT.

If you still have not turned in anything on Capstone or have changed it, I need to know what you are doing now so send me something via email.

Economics Class 3-8-10

It's been a while since this was updated but here is what we have been doing. We are nearly finished with Unit 2: Microeconomics and so our test will be this Friday the 12th. The review guide was given out in class today and if anyone was absent they need to go to the green hanging folders and pick it up.

We have turned in/gone over the following assignments: Equilibrium practice sheet (worksheet), Supply shift practice (worksheet), book questions, vocabulary flash cards for unit 2, circular flow drawing, role of government chart (worksheet), median monthly income budget (worksheet), business organization practice (worksheet). There may be more but this is what I can think of right now. If it is marked worksheet, it is in the green hanging folders and you need to go pick it up.
